Default Steering servo problem

Let me start by saying thank you for accepting me to your forum.I have just received a used Losi eight(not for sure on what model yet). The steering servo is a spektrum z590. When I turn on the car the servo automactically turns the wheels to the right. I have tried centering and such but it has no left turn and the radio controller has no effect. Is my servo bad or what? Any suggestions on how to correct this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Well, there are a few possibilities, but first I'd suggest removing the servo horn & then try centering the servo(do that by centering the steering on the transmitter & then power up the car's electronics so the servo should go to its center position), then reinstall the servo horn(noting what position seems right to keep the steering rack centered). If that doesn't work, then it's possible you could have some stripped gears in the servo, but you should try to exhaust all other possibilities first. Oh, & the RC Tech Site Forum is actually just the place to ask about the site itself, for stuff about the cars or electronics, or tracks, there are suitable sections for that(& I'd say yours might be best in the Radio & Electronics Forum), & you should get a better response there, so I'm going to move it to the Radio & Electronics area now....

I can turn the servo all the way to the left or find center manually but whenever i power up it turns steering to right.I would like to eliminate all posibilities before buing a new one.

Try re-calibrating the radio to the esc and make sure the servo is plugged into the rcvr with correct polarity. If that doesn't do it, prob time for a diff servo.
