Default Question on older and broken servos

I have few servos that my eight b&t have fried. Getting higher end servos are on my list of rc parts but for now I gotta use what I can afford. Any how question is when the servo goes out, are they easy to repair? I see repair parts for servos so I'm guessing some are easy fixes. I often just send them in for repair but ones like my jr8800 are out dated. It worked great but has no warranty. Hate to trash it so what can I do with it? Will horrizon or hitec charge a lot to fix it or just trash it? Any help would be great. Thanks

I think it depends on what goes out in the servos. If its the gears those can be replaced, but if it the motor I think you might have to replace the servo.

I have an JR8711 and it needs servicing but I think the motor is burned out.
