just wanna say that the viper vtx 10r be has helped my 2wd short course out a lot. I ran a viper 8.5 mtr yesterday with the vtx esc and ended up tq for the day and second overall (lost tie breaker).
great throttle response and was able to clear doubles without any issues coming out of 180 deg. hairpins. this esc actually has a smooth power band that is helpful with a 2wd truck. vehicle, gearing, motor timing, boost timing, rpms, etc. Thanks! |

Does anyone have pics of there VTX8 mounted in a Tekno EB48?????
This is in my 4x4 but I think it's the same thing...sorta...kinda Attachment 1137981[/QUOTE] Yeah that is close. My only prob is height for the Buggy Body and with the longer 1/8 motor in there is it a tight squeeze. Thank You!!! If anyone else has a buggy mounted up let me know or see? Gonna measure my vtx8 height and a Gen2 RX8 to see if they are the same. |
Just wanted to note on the discussion of the neutral signal. The issue comes from how the signal is coming from the radio. The speed control only can operate by what it receives from the radio. The difference in the signal and how it hold a neutral point are dependent on the radio. Our system will not engage if it can not find neutral. Other systems will engage, but if you ever hear someone say they "lost" brakes during a race, or didn't think they got full throttle -- that is the neutral point moving. If you have ProGauge, you can actually go and measure the end points on each model of your radio and see how they are a little different. You can PM and I will send you the link with the steps.
As for cut offs. There are really 3 types. 1)Protection - temp either motor or esc == in which you would see an error code on the VPort. 2) Low Voltage cut off. If this occurs the system will cut off and reset about 10 seconds later - after it goes through the start up sequence. This can be because of a voltage spike (caused by crash, settings, or just inefficient motor) or the battery not able to handle that spike. 3) if the system shuts off and will not turn back on - there could be multiple reasons from poor connection, internal failure, connection inside battery. These are harder to figure out. |
Oh BTW -- check out the shopviper site in the motor section and see what is listed as "In Stock"!!!!!:):tire::tire:
