Before you toss the motor, try this setup http://viper-rc.com/forums/index.php...91.0;attach=63.
It makes a fairly smooth transition from boost to top speed timing. If you're still getting lag then you may have an issue with the motor. I've shown a couple of my VST's 200+ degrees (my bad), they're still running well, just replaced the rotors. Let me know how it works out.

But it's not so much lag , it's like the motor is struggling to dish out the power that the esc is giving. At full throttle the motor was erratic .
Its like trying to spray the final bits of paint out of a spray paint can

Thanks for your help dude
But my problem is that the motor was
Working fine and VERY fast until I had a very hot run on a very hot day and then damaged the rotor (scratches) and the sensor board (fixed )
Which was the last time I went for a practice . When I arrived at the track and gave my car a test on the car stand , I noticed the speed was substantially lower than usual. And by the end of my 2 hour practice , it had the problems I explained above . So I had it working perfectly and now it isnt. Do
You think it is the motor ? Should I get a new one?
And if I do get a new motor , can it be any brand?

Hi guys,
On my tc with vtx10 and vst 13.5 motor (using profile 7) the motor has no definitive kick into boost , and at full throttle it kinda pauses and starts rapidly , seems like its struggling to put out the power that the Esc is giving..
I have had motor issues before and I was told that the motor will die eventually if you have burnt it...
So is the motor fried? And if it is the Esc, how would I tell if it is?

My gear ratio is 6.11
Could it be the battery?
I'm using the gold trakpower 4900 , I'm pretty sure it's like 4 years old cause I got it at the same time I got my cyclone tc.
The problem is that I don't have another newish battery to try it with. I have a trakpower 4800 saddle pack but that is also 4 years old.

New Black Edition VST motor testing!!! This motor looks promising and it has so much power. I took it apart to show you guys the details that Viper has put into this motor
The integrated cooling fan gives you the option to cool the motor 20-30* more
