Default Servo Basics

I am in the process of replacing both servos in my Associated RC8B nitro buggy and moving to either a lipo or life battery. I am aware of the impact of the voltage change by going to the different battery. Right now I am leaning towards the life configuration. I am trying to establish the minimum requirement vs overkill for a buggy as to torque vs speed and how it effects steering, breaking, and throttle. I know torque is important for steering but I would assume it would be important for breaking as well. Speed would have an effect on both. Do you mix and match servos or use the same "specs" for both steering and brake/throttle. There is a lot of info on batteries and the features and benefits. I am struggling to find the same on servos. Any input from "those in the know" would be much appreciated. I do consider myself a serious racer.
