Castle Sidewinder Programming Issue (Green/Yellow Flashing)
#1
I got a Sidewinder off here a few weeks ago and I am having an issue getting into the initial calibration setup. I have tried four different tx/rx setups, and four different lipo batts. No matter what I do, it always will only blink green/yellow (it will blink red three times when a battery is initially hooked up). I have tried holding the tx at full throttle when turning on the esc and have not had any luck. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? Thanks!

Do you have castle link to program it with your computer ?
What battery are you using ?
What TX / RX are you using ?
Flashing green / yellow indicates a low voltage condition (auto-lipo mode)
Decsription of flashing LED's can be found here

They can be finicky to setup sometimes
Cheers

If you're using a futaba tx, reverse the throttle channel. If you're not using a Futaba tx (or have already reversed it) and the batt voltage is not low, you need to call Castle. The esc shouldn't be doing that.

I strongly recommend getting the Castle link. Not only can you set the ESC up much quicker and easier there are a number of adjustments not available through the TX. More importantly you can update the firmware within the ESC , this is important for earlier Sidewinders. I had a cogging issue that went away with newer firmware. Flash the ESC with the latest firmware and then choose "restore defaults" then "update" to restore the ESC to it's out of the box state. You should then be able to perform the calibration. If the Castle Link can't communicate with the ESC then you know it's bad.

Mine did the same thing. It was the first time I ever used it. It's too bad it sat on my shelf for 15 months before I tried it. Now Castle says it is screwed and no warranty.
I would agree though that if you decide to stay with Castle to get the castle link.
