Default which esc is for me.

just getting back into rc after 15 years. I'm using my old electronics and am looking for a new esc. I have a 17 turn brushed motor, but thinking of going to brushless. Is there a esc out there for me? also need to have reverse

Most brushless ESCs would fit those requirements.

Are you planning on racing? if so, which class(es)? Which scale?

Some ESCs are better suited for open ESC stock classes, some are better suited for mod and some are only suited for zero timing sportsman classes. For each of these though there are a handful of different ESCs to choose from.

For racing in just about any class, you'll want a sensored setup. Sensorless is ok for bashing, but not much else.
