Electronically, there is no problem and it will spin

Timing wise.. the timing is advanced and therefore i feel the timing will be the opposite.. therefore retarded

So someone correct me if i am wrong.

I have done this with mabuchi motors with very little effect, but with adjustable timing, i would bring it back to almost 0, or go negative if an option.

I don't see why you couldn't leave the leads the way they are suppose to be and reverse the throttle channel on the radio.

Your motor will not run well and not last long running reverse polarity. I also dont see why you cant get it set up with the Traxxas radio and HPI ESC

when you reverse the throttle it makes reverse have brakes and forward has no brakes it just slams into reverse instead. The guy at traxxas said i would need a programable esc to fix this he said its common to do this, and i told him the hpi was auto progammed so the esc wont learn the receivers problem.

If it's only a radio-esc interaction issue, there won't be a timing or motor issue. As you are only correcting a reversed polarity issue, you end back up with correct polarity.

Timing-polarity issues only occur if the vehicle requires a reverse rotation motor. Perhaps something like the early X-Factory conversions with the standard 3 gear tranny for example (if I remember correctly they required reversed motors), before they added the 4th gear to get back to standard motor rotation.
