Lipo Saddle Pack 2S2P Question
#1
Hey Guys,
I got a question about Saddle Pack Lipos that have a 2S2P configuration. How are they setup? Is it 2 x 3.7v packs or 2 x 7.4 packs and the your just doubling on the mah?
Reason I'm asking is that I'm getting a Tamiya TLT-1 and I just realized that I could get some saddle packs and just run one pack in the TLT-1 at a time instead of having to order a custom made NiMH battery.
I think I can run both at the same time as well, the space will allow for it but I was wondering if I could just run one!
Thanks

Going back and doing some searching, I noticed the following:
The packs say they are 2S2P. From what I have read that means 2x 3.7V packs wired in Series and 2 X Packs doubling the mah of the packs.
If that is correct, does that mean each saddle is a 2S1P at 2100mah if its 4200mah total?
Thanks

More than likely each saddle is a 1S2P 4200mAh. Then two 3.7V nominal packs in series to make the full saddle pack.
The cells inside are 2100mAh, two in each saddle.
In series, Voltage adds, but not capacity.
In parallel, capacity adds but not Voltage.
C never changes. Current capability goes up with parallel due to increased capacity, but C remains the same.
