Digital servo Q

Hi guys,
I've got a scanner digital servo (cant remember no. but 10.5KG) and another scanner 7.5 kg NOT digital servo.
When I hook it up on my XB8 it permanantly makes little noises like it's trying to centre. When it was on my 1:10 TC with a novak GTB it was perfectly silent.
I'm running it with a Airtronics M11x in the 3FS mode and a litle Nicd receiver battery (don't laugh)
Any hints? It operates perfectly but just worried that it might be damaging to the servo over time.
And last question, what voltage should I set the failsafe on the M11x? its default is 3.8 (might be 3.6 it's not on me now)
Cheers for any input.
