It seems unlikely that Spektrum will make a DSM2 module for what is now considered an outdated radio with the release of the 4PK which only uses Futaba's FASST system.

DSM2 is the newer type of signal proccessing used by Spektrum. It is not compatible with DSM (the original proccess). So any DSM module will only work with any DSM receiver but not a DSM2 receiver. However, any DSM2 transmitter is backward compatible and can talk to both DSM2 and DSM receivers.

There are no DSM2 modules for Futaba/Hitec or Airtronics as far as I know.

The OP's problem is that he wants a Futaba 3PK/3PKS but all his receiovers are DSM2 which means that the Futaba with a DSM module can not be used with those receivers. He would have to get DSM receivers for it to work with the older radio.

Sorry to ask, but been out of the scene for a while. I have a SM1000 HRS module for my 3PK and SR3500 receivers in most of my cars. Will these two bind together? or which Spektrum module would I need. Don't want to get a whole fleet of new receivers.

If you already have the equipment why don't you just try? Anyways it should work just fine.

Sorry to tell you this but the HRS module will only bind with the HRS receiver, according to Spektrum.

Well then - holy 2010 batman! Seems to me that Spektrum threw their early adopter customers under the bus with not making a 3PK module for DSM2/DSMx.x or whatever they come up with.

Not a damn thing wrong with my 3PK radio - and I like it ... stupid marketing ploy to get me into a new radio - when ... all I need to do is buy a few $35 SR201 rx's ...

Would have gladly bought a $120 new DSM2+ module + a handful of DSM2 rx's - now all they get is some stupid $35 rx's and a voltage protection capacitor sale.

Marketing genius!
