Hello, I just bought a Castle Mamba Moster ESC and 2200 Motor for my Ve8. I plugged 2 x 11.1 HPI Plasma 30C batteries into it.
To cut a long story short, can someone explain why the ESC just exploded in a puff of smoke and why the hell that just happened. (Polarity is fine, checked and rechecked, I mean it switched on fine and I touched the throttle and bang gone)
P.S. How much is a Ve8 worth with a Castle motor? (minus the ESC)
I'm pretty devastated.
Regards, tjfm

Usually there is user error involved, but there have been some issues with Monsters going up in smoke where no errors were made. While frustrating, Castle is very happy to please their customers and will do what they can to assist you. Give them a call or email and I bet you will be melting your tires in no time.

When the V3s first came out my buddy and I bought one at the same time. First time on the track with 6S his caught fire, literally. He called Castle and before he even got his in the mail back to them they had a new one Priority shipped to his house and he had it in his truck 48 hours after the first one went up in smoke.
Not saying that will happen here but CC has great customer service.
If you'd rather sell the buggy I've got $200!
