Default 17.5 Motor Question

Hello,
I am interested in finding out with 17.5 Brushless Motor out of the Box has the most Torque and the most Horsepower. I do not have a Dyno. I know you can change a motor output power with tuned Rotors. I am just looking for Out of the Box info.
Thank you for the help

I don't have any dyno information, but i run a Hacker E40 in a Blitz with an old LRP ESC and it has a lot more torque than any of the other motors I have raced against. One downside to the Hacker is that it doesn't have adjustable timing on the can.
As for good mid-range and top end, most of the fast guys in my area run the Fantom, Tekin Redline, or the Duo2. They are all running the Tekin RS ESC and put down some fast lap times. All our tracks are 1/8th scale with long straights and big jumps.

At our last 17.5 race the Orion's were the fastest by far.

It's interesting that the stock spec "17.5" brushless motors really can be pretty different from manufacturer to manufacturer.

If you need to be ROAR safe though, check their website, they have a finite list of "approved" 17.5 spec motors.

It will be in an Indoor Dirt Oval Late Model. I will be going with a Tekin RS. With Trackside going 100% Dirt, they will be having one "BIG" Oval Race on the big track and all of the other races will be on a short track.

i would have to say either an epic duo 2 or a novak ss the duo will have more rpm but the novak will have more rip but a little less top speed as the duo

Thats what I was thinking. I am going with a Ballistic 17.5 for the short track racing and for the big track I will go with the Duo 2.

IMO with an RS speedo you should be able too tune just about any 17.5 for what you want. Any of the "quality" 17.5 motors should work well for you.
