now i got some lipos today and there are lrp 2s2p 5300mah 28c lipos
now what does the 2s2p stand for...
i know that the 2s stand fro 2 cells and the 2p stands for parallel so does that mean the battery will only charge to 2650 mah or the full 5300 mah
im confused
thanks guys

It means that there are actually 4 cells in the battery pack. There are two pairs in parallel (3.7v 2650mah x 2)increasing there mah to 5300. Then those two pairs are wired in series to raise to the voltage to 7.4v 5300 mah. Most of the time I have seen this done to try and save on space, or to give you a higher C rating.

The 'S' is the number of cells wired in series - wiring in series causes voltage to add and capacity (mah) to remain constant, so that gives you 2 x 3.7v - 7.4v with 2650mah capacity.
The 'P' is the number of cells in parallel - wiring in parallel causes the capacity (mah) to add and voltage to remain the same, so your lipo now becomes a 7.4v 5300mah (2 x 2650mah) capacity lipo.
It actually has 4 cells as pointed out above and this scheme is usually done to increase capacity in the smallest space possible. When you balance charge this, charger will see 2 cells. This is how parallel charging works, all 4 cells will be balanced automatically by balancing the two pairs of paralleled cells.
