HELP !!!!!!! HAVING MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH HOBBY KING

Hi i ordered 6 turnigy 7.4v lipos from hobby king,i got email saying they have been shipped via ems as i requested and supplied myself with tracking number.I checked hong kong post for parcel location with my tracking number and no info was displayed.I emailed hobby king in regards to this and they said there tracking and parcel delivery is behind atm and to wait 48hrs for an update.Well its been over a week now and now item arrived and tracking info still not comming up.Please help as i dont know what to do im feeling massively ripped off.:flaming:

Duster_360 05-30-2010 06:25 PM

Have you checked USPS tracking to see if its cleared customs and been given to them?

Tracking is not 100% reliable!

sports-dude202 05-30-2010 06:29 PM

Ya when i bought stuff the tracking didnt say anything tell i got the battery then it told me what went on while it was shippng. you just gotta be patient(which i know is hard to do when your not comfortable with a website.) the batteries will come. they did for me.:tire:

It is hard for me to trust hobby king as i have recieved other items from hong kong that were shipped by another company the same time as hobby king shipped theirs.

sports-dude202 05-30-2010 06:37 PM

ya thats why the first time i bought something it was just something cheap. i understand your concern. it took them like 1 1/2 weeks after it said it left hong kong for it to get to me in the US. hopefully it will get their soon.

Duster_360 05-30-2010 06:43 PM

I really doubt HK is trying to pull something, just give it some more time and it'll show up.

the problem is i have ordered rc gear from another company in hong kong at the same time as i ordered from hobby king and i already have that parcel. After this i do not think i will order batteries from hobby king ever again and will not recommend them.I paid for ems and its been over a week and nothing has turned up and no tracking info comes up what a JOKE!!!

snoopyrc 05-31-2010 06:57 AM

Has anyone else had any problems with HobbyKing? I am thinking about ordering something from them and this thread is giving me concerns.

millerman23 05-31-2010 07:21 AM

Give them some more time. I ordered one of the same bats you did. I was also a little worried about the shipping because I had no tracking info either. If they were still back ordered give them anouther week or two but it will come and you will not even know because of there tracking system. Just give it a little more time and they will be there!!! it took about a two and a half weeks from order to delivery for me in Wisconsin

Sorry champ i would advise to go else where once i get my batteries i will refuse to use hobbyking again.I paid over $30 australian for ems and this is what i get.

xl8er 06-01-2010 03:21 AM

it depens on how you shipped your order and if it was in stock sometimes it can take up to 10 days, sometimes longer I have been ordering from them for about 4 years now and never got ripped by them so dont panic its on its way.

It was shipped via ems(express), and there were 100+ batteries in stock and i only bought 6. Its been over 1 and a half weeks now

Wile E Coyote 06-02-2010 01:27 AM

i didn't had problem with HK before (turnigy charger)... but if you paid for your items via PAYPAL, I suggest that you file it for dispute (items not received/sent).

PAYPAL is strict about these, and they (HK) will surely respond to you immediately.

Also advised HK that since they have not sent the items yet, you have filed for a refund so that they'll be aware.

Already started that and they keep asking me to close the dispute.I have checked again today to see if there is any tracking info but like usual nothing. Its been over a week and half now and still nothing:cry:

crusey_aus 06-02-2010 02:28 AM

So HK say that the item has left their warehouse ?

Are there any of the packs you ordered left in stock ?

Sometimes their inventory system is not updated and they run out

I've ordered from them 20 or so times in the last year and never had an issue

EMS gets here (melbourne) within a week or so and the other methods take 10 days or so

Cheers

ganymede 06-02-2010 02:49 AM

to the TS, did you contact HK? wat did they say? hav you tried voicing out in their forum?

My order from last thursday has just left singapore

I would give it a few more days before being concerned

Cheers

mad_about_losi 06-02-2010 05:08 AM

I placed an order back on the 19th of may and I was told the the hong kong postal service was the problem, this is the first time I ever ordered from HK. My shipping finally updated 2 days ago. just give it time and you will get your batteries.

Driver86 06-02-2010 05:53 AM

It took me nearly 3 months to get my stuff the last time I ordered from them. I think their website is inaccurate as far as their stock goes, they sell out quickly and then have to place orders on hold and make excuses until they get more stock. Their products are great but if I need anything in a reasonable time then I'll still get their Turnigys and Zippys but I'll buy them off of E-bay and pay a slight premium in order to get them within a week instead of several months.

Bmr4life 06-02-2010 07:09 AM

I've got 3 orders I'm waiting on.

Ordered 5/24, 5/25 & 5/27. Two shipped EMS, one Air Parcel.

All have tracking numbers that lead to nothing.

burnineyes 06-02-2010 08:48 AM

Wow, 3 orders in 4 days seems like a waste of shipping costs, but to each his own.

I have not ordered from HK in a month or so, but I have always gotten everything I wanted out of them. 10 days is a bit excessive for EMS, but I wouldnt worry, they are not a rip off company. I would bet it is the postal service over there.

Some extra stuff came in stock on the 27th that wasn't instock before that. Other orders were split due weight/cost savings. I spent a couple hours getting those orders split up properly.

What sucks is the EMS stuff will probably get here the same time as the Air parcel.

burnineyes 06-02-2010 02:11 PM

Ah, that makes sense. I have ordered from them before and realized a few days later that I needed something else, but I decided to wait another week to make sure nothing else came up. In most cases separate orders will really cost you, but it sounds like you knew what you were doing!

Here's an interesting thread on delay in shipment due to lipo safety issue:

This is posted by HK forum's admin:

It's starting to look perminent for Hong Kong Post.
That means alot of small eBayers and other stores that dont have the capacity to ship out via private courier will be attempting time and time again to post their lipo's only to have them returned a week or two later.
You're going to see alot of HK/CN vendors stop selling Lipo's in the coming weeks/Months as they work out that it's not getting through.

We are now doing the following;
1) We have charged two private courier companies with the task of shipping our products out. Bypassing Hong Kong Post.
2) We have already sent 2 containers of Lipoly to Germany and next week 1 container to Seattle (the location of our new warehouse to be).
3) Customers who buy Lipo from as now will have them shipped via the Private couriers.
4) In future you will have a greater selection of Lipo from USA (Seattle) or DE (Hamburg) warehouses.
5) We are changing tracking system pages this week and next to better reflect the new services.

In the end you're going to get your batteries at the same price, but with faster shipping and less customs issues.

Duster_360 06-02-2010 07:47 PM

I just read all that over on RCGoups. Would guess this HAZMAT issue with EMS is what has the OPs lipos tied up, they've prob been sent back to HK.

What a mess! Hopefully it will be better as an end result when they get something routine established shipping wise for their new Seattle warehouse.

ganymede 06-02-2010 08:48 PM

one thing for sure, HK is not some small timer hobby shop... from their posting, they have shipped 2 containers to germany and 1 to seattle!!! if they are 20 footers, that's almost 60 metric tonnes of lipo!!! enuf lipo to power my house for the whole year plus the fish tank...

patience, patience...

shano83 06-03-2010 12:41 AM

Hey guys the problem is that all this nonsense was never posted anywhere on Hobby kings website till alot of unhappy people started jumping up and down.It would not hurt hobby king to post an attention message on their home page about this prob if anything it will make their life easier as all the general public will see this and beaware of this so hk chat rooms wont end up being full of pissed off people. It all comes down to curtesy and keeping the public in the know of things.

ganymede 06-03-2010 02:11 AM

well, if you know enough chinese companies you will know that courtesy and customer service is not their strongest point, i personally don't expect much customer service from HK or any online store that sell lipos for a few bucks, i also don't expect them to provide customer service anything close to AMAIN or Tower Hobbies, as the saying goes "Pay peanuts get monkeys" is certainly fit for HK when it comes to their customer service. for all that we know, their lipos were probably produced in a sweat shop factory with the same working conditions as FOXCONN!

on the other hand, containers after containers full of lipo being sold all over the world itself say something about their business, they must have done something right, if they are no good, noone would buy from them... :o

have you e-mail directly to HK? any response from them?

pls be patience and let us know the outcome ok?

What did they say in their e-mail? Did you ask them to compensate you for the snail pace EMS shipping?

Am sure you won't need to wait for 12 months... Patience, patience... Let us know the outcome ok?

Good luck!

Bmr4life 06-03-2010 05:28 AM

The money they charge for EMS shipping is only for the shipping of the package once it hits the US. They do not charge for the shipping it took to get it to the US so there is no refund for the EMS.

DriftWoof 06-04-2010 02:00 AM

I have a similar problem that some of you have read.

I ordered 3 Lipos, they didn't come for about 2 weeks and I payed for EMS Express.

Ordered 4, same thing.

They gave me a fake tracking number, this happened on ym recent order as well.

I have a theory they do this so you can't cancel your order.

Then they give me a real tracking saying "sorry, here's the tracking" and it works. They tell me the items were shipped and left the warehouse but that's debatable when the tracking shows the ship date.

So you can't cancel the order.

Just a theory.

At least we can get affordable Lipo batteries and a bunch too. I'm grateful.

i agree but at the same time if you pay for ems thats what you expect!!! It would have been cheaper to go with normal shipping and get it in the same time frame

I stated this earlier. EMS only refers to the shipping speed once it is the US. Before that, it goes the same speed as Air Parcel/Registered Mail.
