Transponder problem

Is there a way to test an AMB transponder? I raced this weekend (not very well:lol:)and was doing 38-43 sec. laps. When the results were posted for the mains it showed a lap at 128sec, another at 108 an a couple in the 90's. The rest seemed right. I'm not a good driver but jeez! Any ideas?

Could those be laps where you wiped out? That would explain the longer than normal laps. Or the timing loop is in a spot where you might have jumped a pipe and skipped the loop.

Tranponder mounting position can play a big part in missed laps. Ask the race director to look at the hit strength when you pass over the loop. That will let you know how it compares to others.

Watch the light on your transponder while the car is on the ground. Turn the wheels right, then left. If the transponder lite goes dim while the servo is active under load it will cause the low hits that bentgear is referring to.

This means that the servo is taking all or most of the power that the speedo is supplying to the receiver. Usually adding a capacitor to either the speedo or receiver will fix this problem.
