spektrum receiver

I am running a spektrum receiver and I have noticed that as I get low on a battery that sometimes the car will stop for a bit if i try to turn while being on the throttle so I am wondering if i need to using a rxbattery with this RX cause i never noticed it with my old 27mhz one.
And if I am can you suggest a cheap one

Sounds like you need a new battey. What type of car is this in ?

traxxas rustler...It works great until the voltage gets low then it just shuts off it seems.

Hmmm? Those Spektrum receivers have low battery fail safe? Maybe that's why its shutting off. Also, 2.4 radio drains the battery faster than FM or AM radios.

Does anyone know if the receiver have a low voltage failsafe thats a fairly high voltage. Cause if I pick up the car it will run just fine its like the motor draws to many amps and drops the voltage temporarily

These guys called it a brown out warning or something - caused by voltage dropping below 3.2v. Watch at ~4:30min when they start talking abouit this. No one said fail safe. This implied you've got a prob somewhere that may be interrupting power (bad connection) or the batt you're using isn't up to the task of keep ing voltage high enough to avoid this -
