ezrun 60a esc problem

i have a ezrun bl esc, 60a esc, the first version. i have a problem on setting it to full throttle, (throttle calibration) the motor stops when full throttle, its ok if its half throttle and reverse (even full reverse). i tried to calibrate again but still not ok.i hope someone can help me. thanks.

Hi. I have encountered a problem wherby my eventually the motor slowed down and didn't turn at all. The battery wasn't low. I noticed the red LED flashed when the throttle is moved but no turn on the motor. Also noticed the ESC doesnt beep either.
Any ideas please? Thanks

Hi,
I just purchased a new 6.5T Ezrun 60a ESC kit. All is installed in my cat and with the car's wheels raised of the floor, the ESC seems to respond smoothly throughout the throttle range.
However when the car is put on the floor and I move the throttle very slightly forward, the car begins to move and then suddenly engages into near full throttle by itself, without me moving the stick on the controller all the way. this is quite dangerous and almost damaged my car!
Any ideas why or have a missed a setup???

1) re-calibrated the EPA of the Transmitter and ESC. max forward, max reverse, neutral.
2) With the use of the program card - the "Start Mode (punch)" setting was reduced from value 7 to value 2. "Timing" was reduced from level 5 to level 1.
The car now drives in a more linear rather than an on/off type of control.

The gearing is stock that was with the car. The only thing I changed on the car was put larger diameter wheels on it. Previously I did have the 9t 35A Ezrun system before deciding to upgrade to the 6.5T 60A Ezrun system and the 35A system ran fine with the larger wheels.
The car originally has much smaller diameter wheels (kyosho pureten wheels) than the ones on it now. Relating to gearing, could this be the issue for the 6.5T 60A system in my car???

Tire size will certainly affect your overall gear ratio, a good general rule is that for every increase of tire dia. by 0.25", you should drop 2 teeth on your pinion. Depending on your final drive ratio and original tire size this could be different for your application, but it should be a good starting point. However, I dont think this is your issue since you say the car just takes off like you hit full throttle when you only give it partial throttle.
I would try to re-calibrate the system again, but make sure your radio settings are correct first. If you have a Futaba radio, or a Futaba OEM such as what comes with many RTRs, you will need to reverse the throttle channel before calibration. If you have EPA or ATL adjustments you will want to ensure they are maxed in both directions for the throttle channel, and make sure your trim setting for the throttle is at zero. Make sure you have good batteries in your controller and a fully charged pack in the car. If you still have the same trouble after re-calibrating it, you can try this: Re-calibrate again using slightly lower EPA or ATL settings, then max them after calibration. I am honestly unsure of why this has worked for some people, but I have heard of some calibration issues being corrected with this procedure.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sorry, but I also forgot to mention that the car only engages forward like full throttle only when it is on the ground (i.e, wheels under load). When the wheels are off the ground (i.e, off load), the speed of the motor seems to repond smoothly through out the whole throttle range.
Does this eliminate the radio gear and leave the only option of tweeking the gearing? Also does the timing/punch values need to be adjusted if this solves my problem. I don't understand what timing is recommended or just left stock.

I finally manage the track the root cause of the issue. It seemed to be that the radio receiver was interfering with ESC when applying little throttle, only when the car is on the floor. I receiver was mounted next to the ESC originally.
When the receiver was mounted away from the ESC, the problem went away. How weird!
