Voltage Cutoff?
#1
I not new to RC, but am new to lipo. I am setting up my Tekin RX8, and want to set my voltage cutoff correctly for two 2s batteries that I am using to power my car. I am under the impression from what I have read, that using the stock 4s cutoff of 14.8 volts could actually be bad, and some people are setting it a little higher to protect batteries that are expensive. So, would setting the cutoff to 15 volts be too much and reduce my run times too much, or would 14.9 volts be more than enough? Or have I got this whole voltage cutoff thing all together wrong? Thanks for your advice.

I doubt the stock cutoff was 14.8 where did you read that ?
Nominal 4s voltage is 14.8v, they will drop well below that under load
No reason to have it that high you will never avoid lvc
Set it for 3.4v / cell or 13.6 and you should be fine
This will allow for variations / a single cell to drop a little lower but still not below 3.0v
Cheers
