Default Mamba Monster Arming and Calibration

Ok, I have had a couple trucks with the Mamba Monster ESC on them, but they have all been RTR. I just finished a Losi 8TE 2.0 conversion installed my ESC. Steering was fine after some EPA adjusting but I had no throttle. I could not get the ESC to take the calibration for throttle.

I would pull full trigger turn on the ESC would never get the beeps. However if I pushed forward for brake, then pulled the trigger for throttle and then neutral it took the calibration. But of course now I was reversed. So I switched it on my my radio and it all works fine now.

I just wanted to find out if this is normal or if there was something I did wrong. Just really want to know for furture reference. My radio is a 3PKS FASST 2.4. Thanks for any information.

If you run a Futaba radio with Castle escs, you learn to reverse the throttle channel. Thats just way it is, all mine have been that way. Its normal, sorry you had to learn it the hard way.

Just an FYI - its covered in the manual, pg 13. Who reads those things, right?

For Futaba transmitters, Castle recommends reversing the throttle before programming. This should get you spinning in the right direction.

Well, that makes me feel better. I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out what the heck I messed up. Lesson learned and thanks a ton for the info. I can now move on to other things and not question my sanity.
