DX6i clarification and tail servo question

While I am still perfecting my hovering, I'm already looking into the future for which upgrade would make the most sense next. I currently have the Exceed RC 2.4ghz 6-channel transmitter, and although programmable via PC(T6config), it is very basic.

I do like the DX6i a lot, but I have read many conflicting articles and postings about the DX6i transmitter and a T-Rex 600 E version. Some say the DX6i works perfectly fine with 600-class, others say you need a 7-channel. Which is correct? Since the T-Rex 600 is the class that I will eventually focus on, I want to make sure my transmitter can do the job, without having to buy another one once I am ready for the T-Rex 600.

The other question I have is in regards to noise coming from my tail servo:

I have the Detrum GY48V gyro on my EXI 450 Alu V2. I can hear a constant buzzing sound from the tail servo even without rudder input, is that normal? I am using the following tail servo: T-Pro MG90S 9G, which is supposedly digital, therefore I set my gyro to DS mode ON.

I actually have an Align DS420 servo on the way, but I am curious about this buzzing sound in general...

Thanks so much in advance!!

Boy, oh boy! I know it's annoying to help people that are not as experienced, but maybe you should not have a forum for help then. Because this is apparently a place were you won't get any...Just remember, you were all n00bs at first. Good Luck with this "oh so helpful" forum

did you post in the flight forum?

Try that and see what happens

Not all questions get answers right away

Buzzing is not unusual with digital tail servos. My question to you is how does it hold? Looks like a JR 770, does it hold the tail well in heading hold?

I just having got the Trex600 am glad I have a 7 channel Tx. Although you could get by with 6 channels (3 cyclic, 1 rudder, 1 throttle, 1 heading hold on/off/program gain) I can use the 7th for a servo to adjust the carb mix, or to plug in power to the receiver without using a y-cable.

So i suggest you get a DX7. I have the Futaba 7C, but cannot take advantage of all the nice bind-and-fly flying things like the Blade msR. The DX7 would be the ticket!

Before you start bashing the users of this forum, remember it is basically a car forum, not a flight forum. It is unlikely that the car people would of been able to help you. I see someone did point you to another forum one day later. That is not bad response for this portion of the forum.
