Default ONE MORE LIPO ?

Ok so I am gonna charge my turnigy 5000 2s lipo for the first time I have a LRP pulsar 3 and a checkpoint balancer. So I am gonna hook the charger up to the balancer then charge through the small black red and yellow wire? LRP manual says to charge this pack at 5.0 amps is that right? then when i run the pack is the pulsars half charge system good enough to use and let them sit? thanks

If you're asking about a hard case lipo - thats right. Charger to balancer, the balancer to the lipo - all 3 wires - the pos, the neg and the balance wire. 5amps is correct.

Not familar with the 1/2 charge system, try is and see what the voltage winds up at, 3.7 - 3.8v would be good.

OK SO IT IS A HARD CASE but it has a postive and negative lead then there is 3 wires in a harness i only use the 3 wire setup then?

My charging setup may be diff. I use just a two lead (pos and neg) set to run with. Then when I charge, I remove that and use a 3 wires harness to charge - again a pos, a neg and the balance wire plugged (bullet) into the balance port of the hard case. The other end of the 3 wires is a nylon connector that fits my charger's balance port. I can't run with this harness its used just for charging.

I have to use 2 separate wire sets. Yours may be diff.

Soft cased lipos are different when it comes to balance connections. You'd have to have a diff set of wires for the balancer if it was soft cased, thats why I asked.

I think we've been talking about diff lipos here. Do you have this (soft case) -

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s..._20C_Lipo_Pack

Or a lipo like this (classic hard case) -

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXVHA2&P=ML

That last one is what I was trying to describe.

With a separate balancer in charge thru mode you will be charging thru the main power leads (pos and neg). The balance plug wires are to small for much current but they will be attached to balance port of balancer. You said team checkpoint balancer - like this?

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXTSA5&P=ML

That is setup for teh hard case lipo like the orion I linked.

Thats why I asked, I started thinking you had both a hard case and the soft case type balance connector. Now I think we're on same page.

After reading manual on charge thru balancing, it looks like you have all you need and it does chargeand balance thru the balance wires. Thats what was throwing me - this balancer is a version of the Hyperion LBA10 balancer, but LBA10 has a place above where you plugin that harness that has two wires for you to install your choice of batt connector and obviously connects to both battery leads and balance wires.

This one has only the balance type connector and since the web page for TC says it will handle 6amps, looks like they expect the balance wires to take at least 5amps for charging. Sorry it took a while to get there, but to charge your lipo with this, you just connect the connector you bought to the balancer and the lipo, then connect the balancer to your charger. I don't see any other way for it to work.
