Default Hitec HS-55 Issues

I purchased a Hitec HS-55 servo for my Losi Mini Baja. I saw that the HS-55 is a direct swap for the stock servo. I bought the Hitec assuming that I would be upgrading, but right now I'm not so sure. This is my first Hitec purchase and it just might be my last.

I know the servo is cheap, but the first one I received from Tower Hobbies was dead on arrival. I contacted Hitec and it took two weeks to receive a replacement. That is just a ridiculous amount of time for such a small item! Looking back I should have called Tower and I'm sure I would have received a replacement much faster.

The replacement servo I received works, but it is constantly making noise like it's glitching and/or being restricted from returning to neutral. I tested this without hooking the servo up to steering linkage so it's not caused by any binding issues on the car. I also played around with the steering trim on the controller, but nothing has gotten rid of this noise/glitching.

Does anybody have any idea what's going on? Do the HS-55s just suck this much?
