3.0 amps or lower

charge at 1C, so if its 2500 mah you want to charge at 2.5 amp. if it 900 you wanna charge at .9 amp and so on

So what do you think would be the ideal charge since you mentioned 3.0 or lower? Is a little lower better for the life of the battery or do I just leave it at 3.0?

3.0 is fine. the lower the amp the better the charge but will take forever. i always charge at 1c

Hey losi_racer, 1c means 1.0A right?

Nol, the C charge business really applies to lipo (1C = capacity(mah)/1000). NiMhs are diff. A good starting charge rate for these would be 3amps, the 1C business is usually safe for NiMh, but watch how hot they get. If they get too hot to hold them, rate is too high. I'd use a peak sensitivity of 3 to 5mv/cell too. Temp when they peak should be 120-130F. ANy hotter and you risk damaging them and can really shorten life span getting them too hot.

New NiMhs are usually more sensitive to rate, but after some cycles, they seem to break in and you can bump charge rate up. My 4400s started at 3amps (got too hot at 4amps), but now I charge them at 5amps.

NiMH battery packs like yours can be charged up to 2C without any problems. You should set the delta cutoff somewhere between 3mV to 5mV depending on preference.
