I’ve tried doing range checks a few times with both a Spektrum DX3.0 and DX3R. Never been able to do it, I can’t see far enough. I’ve zoomed down the street and ended up walking down the street to see well enough to turn around a few times even.

I've got a Spektrum DX3S and thought the range was "farther than the eye can see". However, this isn't the case. For me, the range was 130 feet. I called Horizon to complain and they said the range I was getting was about average (originally I told them I wanted to get it serviced and they said that 130 feet is about right). I've got the antennas straight up as requested but about 130 feet is as far as it goes. Any other DX3S owners have the same range?

I have the new Sanwa MX 3X FHSS 3 radio on the way, going to try test the range on that.
My losi 2.4 only had a range of about 35m (110'-120'?), but from what I have read and seen it's the transmitter with the weak output that is the problem.

I have 2PL 2.4g radio, it says in the manual the max range is 80 meters
which is 262.5 feet. Surprisingly, the 3PM 2.4g has the same max range.
Ive used mine at 100 meters at an open space with no problems.
