:lol: ya i see your point....Still a lot of people think the Hitec's are junk from 5+ year's ago when they Genuinely did have issues with the 59XX line up...but imo they are at the top of their game, with Big name Driver's entrusting their gear with their servo's speaks volumes if you ask me. :nod: |
I personally love both companies servos, but I love Hitec's customer service and warranty way more.
I will say that the Hitec's seem smoother from end to end throw, the only thing Hitec can steal from JR would be the sweet machined ALU casing the new JR line comes in. I'm sure once I have an issue it will be my JR servos first. It's just a gut feeling I have, but I still run both and love them both. OOO and price point is huge. If I had to all over again I would have waited for the Hitec's to hit the shelf and only bought those since they are about $50 cheaper overall. |
Let me start off by saying Hitecs customer service is the best I've ever dealt with in this industry with that being said;
THE HITEC 7940 IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF CRAP EVER!!!!! I bought 4 of them in late October and 3 out of the 4 have been back to Hitec twice now. The only reason its not 4 because I traded the fourth one to Truhe for a 7950. I just got 2 of them back last week and BOTH went out again Saturday. The 3rd is still at Hitec. I have been using them as throttle servos and both went out in my buggy and truggy Saturday the bad part is the one in Truggy went out while breaking a motor in. These Servos have been in the mail more than they have been in my Vehicles. I had to go to the local Hobby Shop and buy 3 7955's just so I could race in our points series. I have an old 5955 that is over 3 years old and been in 3 different tuggies and its still fine. I am sending these back again in the morning and asking them not to send them back THEY ARE GARBAGE!!!!!!! The motors are going south and the gear is also. I just hope they will switch them out for 7955's so I dont have this problem anymore. Like I said in the begining you cant beat there customer service but I'm tired of having to deal with customer service I just want the freakn servos to work so I can race and be mad at my driving not the SERVO!!!! |

2.6mm :nod: |
would the 7950 or 7955 be fast enough for a throttle servo or a steering servo in a buggy???
|
I just ordered a 7940 and 7950 for my truggy to replace the jr servos. I hate the fact that after a couple races, the JR servos start jittering like a meth addict going through with drawls.
My buggy, already has a pair of 7955 in it, so its safe. |

They aren't the quickest but they are very fast. A 7950 in the Throttle though!! Are you trying to pull your carb slide out of the carb with a servo. :lol: Those things are a beast on Torque a little to much for the throttle if you ask me, but yes you could run them there if you choose too. 486oz of Torque on the carb is pretty intense. |
