Check for play in the gears. Mine did this as well untill i replaced the gears.

That's funny my JR 9100S that I put into the buggy did the same thing on steering LOL

they tend to do that right before they blow up...

the servo is shaking because its trying to find center.

There are two things that will cause that, either the upper case, or the gears. If yours is one of the newer models, its most likely the gears, cause the case has been updated.

I had one with the shakes, and it worked fine as long as there was a load on the servo, it only had the shakes when it was off the ground. I ran it for a whole season like that!

I ended up buying the replacement parts and selling it to a guy with full disclosure that it had 'the shakes'. He replaced the parts, it fixed the problem, and still works to this day.

i had a 9000t that did it as well as taking the cs170 throttle servo and my lipo pack as well as my sr3001 rx that was an expensive day.

when the front wheels are off the ground the wheels will "tick" back and forth correct?

that means the servo cant find its center point and steady itself.

THis is a normal trate of the ace when the gears wear. A simple & non costly trick is to remove the top cover, the top gear is brass & its here where it wears in the centred point. Simply lift & turn it through 180 deg & you have a new set of teeth to wear to your hearts content..
