Thats correct - all these diff companies use diff propiety technology to make their 2.4 systems work and they are not compatible.
The only execptions (which really aren't) is the re-badged rxs made for another label that will work with the original manufacturers radio, like quoted above.

The Losi radios will work with a Spektrum DSM receiver. But not a Spek DSM2 receiver (3100 or 3520). See the chart at the bottom of this page:

One other exception is I think at least some Nomadios can bind with Spektrum DSM receivers, but I think it takes a certain setup to do so.
