Default Calling others with Align balance charger experience

Just bought this used. Instructions are pretty spotty but mention in features:

Align Lithium Battery Balance Charger RCC-4CX KX850140A

Reverse polarity protection and short circuit protection. (warning beep)

AC 100-240V exchange switch for international specification

Supply 3.6V / 3.7V 2-4 cells Li-ion/Li-polymer battery

For both balance charge and charging in series. It is a fast, convenient design

Balance charging is good to prevent the situation of over-charging or under-charging for a single cell

Auto-detected charge status display. (Red light: while charging Green light: end of charging)

Cooling fan and multi-circuit protection to avoid the dangerous of charging

The auto-detected function of low voltage for power
So I plug in charger, all lights green, plug in my thunder power 3 cell (using adapter) and 3 lights go red (which should happen) and i begin getting a low volume constant beeeeep. Unplugged immediately and tried another 2 cell battery which didn't need an adapter. Same result. Thats all the lipos I have at the moment so i can't test any further. Should the charger act like this? What should the reverse polarity warning sound like? Further instructions in 1 page manual state that permanent damage will occur if polarity is reversed for more than 15 sec so I don't have the nerve to just let it go and see if it works. I've since verified that both batteries tested are wired correctly and the balance ports work properly when used with my Turnigy charger.
