Novak GTX replacement capacitor
 

Hello , I just got a used gtx and the capacitor look damage with kink and ballon and flat spot on it . I got one from my local electronic store but its 2.5X the size the the novak one.
I just want to be double check here:

the novak cap specs is 4700Uf 10V 105 celcius and you can read M CE FC

the replacement I got is orange and spec are : 4700Uf 10V (M)130 celcius and you have a rectangle on it following a GX and 34 P(8)

Can I use my replacement one? its bigger only because its rated at 130 celcius?

im pretty sure that will do the trick but I want to be double check in case the novak cap or the replacement I got are special or anything else.

I would recommend against going with a capacitor you just happened to find that looks like it has the same voltage/capacitance specifications as the stock Novak capacitor.

There's a spec that is not rated on the capacitor that is called ESR which has to do with the capacitor's ability to cycle between charge and discharge.

I would simply recommend picking up a #5679 Transcap Module for your GTX:

thanks steve , Off course I will replace with the novak one , but I wont get it before a least a week maybe more. I was just wondering if maybe the other one can do the trick for a week or 2 , the time I receive the novak one. Its been 2 week since my esc broke and I see the end of the season comming very fast here in the north, having to wait again a week or 2 is killing me, plus I have to test this used gtx to make sure its work fine.

But if its critical and can damage the ESC I guess I will wait.

The seller test it with the kink ,flat spoted cap and said its work , but I just dont want to take the chance to run it with that cap
