Default Budget "decent" torque servos

Has anyone had any experience with either of these servos in a 1/8 buggy or truggy? Both are cheap with free shipping at hobbypeople.

Airtronics 94162Z - 144/oz, .18sec, $34
Cirrus CS704MG - 195oz, .15sec $39

Seem like decent specs and pricing? Junk or No? Bash/backup rig worthy?

Thanks!

You should also check out the new surface servos from Spektrum. They're all digital too. The S6020 has 146 oz/in of torque for only $44.99 and the 6010 has 100 oz/in of torque for $39.99, and again they're digital not analog.

Specs look pretty good on those, will check them out.

Trying to get as close to the 200oz mark as possible for cheap in a buggy. That Cirrus looked impressive, but really never heard of em'.

Don't think you'll need that much for a Buggy. I normally use JR9100S servos for steering in my buggy and truggy and those are rated at 150 oz/in @ 4.8V, 180 oz/in @ 6V and I have never had an issue.

I'm guessing that a Cirrus 194oz may not be as much torque as a JR with 180oz...

The 8 comes with a 590 which only has about 89oz or something like that, and it does the job fine. I use a hitec with 130oz and it works fine. you have to remember that you dont need a huge amount of torque when the buggy or truggy is actually rolling. I spent $115 on a hitec titanium gear ultra torque servo and it turnes the wheels just as fast and efficient as a Hitec $39 one.

Not sure how the Cirrus line has evolved but the one I had in a car years ago was terrible I'd go Airtronics over Cirrus (always had great luck with their servos).
