Default Lipo batteries??

Hello!
I wonder about some LIPO batteries... I want them to be on the EFRA list.
What about Intellect 5000mha 40C? is it good or is the LRP 5300 40C better?
Then I wonder where you buy batteries from Nosram and Robitronic? Are these to sorts of batteris good?

I just want batteries with 40C or more and at least 4700mah...
I race much in 1:10 electric with a t2"008, so I need really good stuff...

Anyone who have any suggestions?

The most important thing is where I can these batteries. I've looked at rcmart and rcmushroom... I also want a good balancer, like the one LRP released a couple of month ago.

Many questions, hope you have an answer

I bought IP 30C 5000mah lipos from rc mushroom. They were incredibly poorly packed and I was lucky that someone in the Post Office took the time to re-package them - they arrived completly out of the box and I would have gotten an empty box if someone at the PO had not helped out. Not sure I'd buy anything else from them if their packing is that poor.

If you want "really good" lipos, I would look at Enerlands. I've run a data recorder with my IPs and I'm not impressed, they show a lot of voltage drop at high current draws. The 30C rating on mine seem to be optimistic and not realistic based on what I've seen from my data recorder.

it doesn't sound like a good idea to by from rcmushroom then if they even can't pack the batteries well. So the Intellect batteris isn't good to buy?
Shall I try SMC, LRP, Nosram and stuff like that?
I looked at Enerlands LIPO batteries, but what I can see they arn't on the EFRA LIPO list.

Do you know anyone who sell SMC, LRP, Nosram batteries?

I'm looking for 40C LIPO batteris becasue I'm gonna race at some big competitions and I need really good stuff.

Sorry, I'm not familar with the EFRA list, don't race anymore (was nitro anyway), but since Enerlands are out, what about PolyQuest? They have a 4500mah 43C/70C car pac??

You can get SMCs here -

http://www.spcracing.com/index.php

LRP here - HK Dealer -

Don't see anything but reviews on Nosram lipos. Try Google search.

that was a SMC dealer The Polyquest batteris is not on the EFRA list either, so I think it must be either LRP, SMC, or Nosram...
I also tried google, but like you I only got to review pages, no dealer...

Is these three batteries worth the money? They all cost about 130$, it's quite expensive if you compare the Intellect battery (70$).

I did find the EFRA list and its limited in brands and then more limited by lipos that have a 40C rating.

Frankly, I've been reading about probs with SMCs lipos puffing (swelling) that have been run hot, not too hot, but hot. After a while of doing this, they swell enough to break the hard case open.

The Intellects may be overrated and partly the reason for the price diff. Like I said earlier, the 2S 30C 5000s I have are not impressive - running in my Slash with a MM/5700 combo I was seeing throttle related spikes that looked more it it was really 20C - 106amps at 6.97v, and thats being generous. I don't know how Intellect rates theirs, but it looks like they may be optimistic.

The LRPs are only $100 or so and may be best option. Not sure I'd go with SMC right now especially if your setup will make them run warm to hot. If your looking for premium lipo, don't expect to get them for cheap. I thought I remember seeing Thunderpower on the list, they have a 40C offering too, buts its also a $130 lipo.

well, if the SMC batteries swell so that they break the hardcase, then you need to by a new one...
Like you said, I think that the LRP battery is the best choice.

Where do you find them for 100$? At RcMart the 40C verison cost about 140$, and amainhobbies doesn't even have it what I know...

My bad...I thought the "competition" version was 40C and see now what I was looking at was only 28C.

Do you know anyone thats using the IB 40C lipo? Maybe the 30Cs I have are not typical? There sure is a lot of price diff ($74 vs $130) with those but in todays world, you don't get something for nothing. Makes me really leary that they're overrated.

Well, I've heard that the 28C version isn't good to use in competitions...

Maybee I can ask at my club if anyone have had problems with the 40C.
But why is the IB battery so cheap compared to the LRP? I think it must have something to do with either power or the life lengh of the battery... Or is the LRP battery not better?

SAd thing is there are no standards for rating lipos in thei industry and each company is on its own to decide how they want to rate their lipos. So one companies 40C may be another company's 25C or maybe even lower. I know SMC is the other way, their ratings are conservative - their 28C is prob better than some of the 35Cs that are out there.

This is why we find ourselves asking if the various lipos are performing since word of mouth based on actual useage seems more useful and maybe even more reliable than what the labels on the lipos say. Hope you can find some help thru your club members.

I didn't know that the "C" rating on the batteries depend on the manufacture. Thanks for letting me know

well, I think I need some help with people using the latest batteries to know how they perform.

Hi, I have run 4 LRP LiPo's 5300 for 1 month and they are really shit and I mean really shit. My car TC topspeed 91km/h and after charging 89km/h.
This battery become very hot 63deg C and the punch was gone, thanks to LRP to help me waste my money and give me poor quality, thanks to LRP again.
After this LRP misfortune I started to ask other drivers about this LRP LiPo and they told me they have no problem with those battery, but they surprised me after a week or so that all LRP battery packs are replaced with IP 5000 30C LiPo's and 7 month's later they still drive around with those battery's.
I run those IP Lipo's for 7 month's and they working still good and the topspeed is now 96 to 101 km/h using the same car same tyres same speedo.
The internal resistance from new was 1 to 2miliOhm and after 7 month's it is 2 to 3 miliOhm (measured over all 4 pack's).and sometimes I have to charge them with 8 to 9 Amps and they are still working very well.

Thanks
