please lipo help

running a 2cell my hobby shop told me larrys rc in michigan i dont need a balancer for a 2cell i always used one before.
i dont have one to fit the battery i have.
and when i charged it it stoped at 700 and it a 1600 battery.
its the first charge so is this right???

The battery should have had a partial charge already that's why it only took 700 mah.
I would definately look for a balancer or an adaptor that will work for your existing balancer for the new bat.

If its a Orion or a Kokam lipo, you may be able to do without a balancer, for anything else, find an adapter so you can balance your 2S.
There are 4 balance connections in use today - JST-XH (also called Align style), PolyQuest/Hyperion, Kokam and Thunderpower. Find out what you were using (charger) and what the new lipo uses and then you'll know what adapter you need to make it work.

I've been told that by one of the Mikes at Larry's also - the one that races for Orion. Orion actually puts that on, at least some of, their batteries that they don't need to be balance charged.
Everyone has their own opinion on the matter however!
