Default Servo Making odd noise

One of the 2 steering servos on my e-revo is making an odd noise. It seems to get "stuck" and makes a noise like it is still trying to turn and the other is not. I am not touching the controller at all, but in order to get it to go away I need to turn the wheels and let go.

Have I fried my servo or just the gears?

Has anyone else had this problem??

Default same problem

I have a servo having that exact problem... It's this electronic vibrating noise, and same as yours... I can turn it slightly and the noise goes away, but it comes back... I've thrown the servo in my drawer months ago and have forgotten about it... I didn't want to throw it away, it cost $85... I figured one day I would open it up and clean it out ??? never done it before...

Well I guess I'm not alone atleast. I figure it has to be one of the internal servo gears, but I don't understand why it only happens some of the time. I will open it up when I get off work.

I forgot to post this, but it was the plastic gears. they are destroyed. does anyone know if they sell replacement servo gears or would it be cheaper to upgrade to better servos? also, are there any servos that have metal gears or metal gear upgrades?
