Default M11 Receiver/transmiter

Im trying to find some advices from net with no luck and now im more confused.
I have my M11 and the antenna wire from receiver is a mess from races... Can i change it?? if yes what i have to do?? Its so important the length?
In trasmiter i want to do i want to pull the antenna from module through the the metalic antenna,is that possible?? what i need?

what kind of receiver is it? 2.4ghz? FM? You can simply use a wire with similar gauge to the original one and resolder it on the receiver PCB. As far as I know, the 2.4Ghz receivers are not very particular with the antenna length, but the FM ones need to be stock length.
