I have the RS and I'm VERY happy with it, but I'd recommend that you get the hotwire interface for it. The Tekin IS easy to adjust without it, but if you don't have the hotwire you can't access all the settings and you will NOT get the most out of the RS.
|
As stated, the RS can be programed with two buttons right on the speedo, OR via the hotwire and a PC. You get the basic tuning options on the speedo, but all those plus more via the hotwire.

So you are the guy buying a new speedo and you have all the hind sight info, do you still purchase the tekin rs pro? Remember you have all the years of knowledge before your purchase.

I'm a Novak guy but If I were to be buying new stuff I would go with Tekin, Novak is a little out dated still using the one touch for set-up.

So now I have to buy a new speed control, and knowing what I do, I won't buy anything but another Tekin RS. |

I DID want to try a KO BMC, so I sold my RS and Hotwire to raise some cash. RIght before I made the purchase, I found out that the KO may not work well in one of the applications I had in mind (1/12 single cell LiPO) because I can't disable the voltage cutoff or set it for single cell LiPO...
So now I have to buy a new speed control, and knowing what I do, I won't buy anything but another Tekin RS. I saw your thread selling your RS what..just two weeks ago or so? Sold in like an hour :) .. now you have to buy another? bah... hind sight is always 20/20 Let me know when you sell your NEXT RS/hotwire combo for cheap, I need a second one :p |
Great info guys, thanks for the help. The big T is on the way-now the wait.

Check out the interview we did with Team Tekin Team Manager Randy Pike at R/C Evil Empire!
Check http://www.rcevilempire.com for the full feature. Heads up! He explains about the resurgence of Tekin, the hotbox system, and his team manager duties. Thanks to Randy for all his help, etc. |
Quick question, is it worth it to shell out the extra $$ for the rs "pro"? i will be running 17.5 or 13.5 in an SC10.
