Default Castle MMM combo questions

Couple of questions. keep in mind that all will be running on 4s lipo.

One I have a 1/8 hyper buggy. I want to convert to BL and was wondering which would be better, the 2200kv or the 2650kv? Also will be getting a hyper st pro, and a BL set up for it, which would be better for it?

Last question. The E Revo BL comes with the 2200kv. I have the regular e revo, would the 2650kv work well in it? The tranny gears down the final drive ratio much lower than in buggies and truggies. So I was thinking a higher kv motor would help bring the speed back up with standard gearing.

Both seem like great motors, but I am looking to keep temps low for the southern heat around were I live. So the right motor for each car would go a long way to help, then its just a matter of gearing. Thats 3 MMM combos, looks like castle may be getting a lot of my money in the future.

the 2200 is the better of the two(i was told by a guy at castle that the 2650 was a mistake to make it gets hot faster and has less torque because the can is smaller.)
i run the 2200kv on 4s in my truggy and it has almost to much power.
just my .02c

Sounds good, I was mostly wondering about the e revo, but I can always change gearing. Rather go the safe cooler running way than not.

On my 8ight-E, I can do wheelies with the 2650kv on stock gearing. Its got plenty of torque. Can't go wrong with either. There is almost too much power with the 2650kv. 2200kv will work as well and probably recommended for truggies/monster trucks. 2200kv in a buggy would make the power more manageable. Its also less critical of gearing changes.

2200 is what comes in the HPI Flux and on 4S it tosses that thing around like its nothing - loads of torque. You can also go to 6S with that kv for more speed if you want.

Think your better choice is the 2200.

Yes, go with the 2200, the 2650 in my D8 is overkill!
I'm probably going to put a 2050 Tekin motor in, when they are released.

yes I saw the new tekin combos. They look good, its a sensored design. Just not as familiar with there products, but they are tempting. I wonder how the two would compare. The MMM esc is sensorless only, and the computer progrmmability is great. The new tekin runs both motor types and is computer programmable too. So which would be better? The motors should be close in power output, the real question is how well the esc programing is. I wonder what the efficiency rating is on the tekin motors.
