Novak GTB problem...Help
#1
Hi,
I have cogging issues with my GTB. When i accelerate the car has lots of jolts.
sounds like the power cuts off briefly then restart or the motor/Gtb doesn't understand each other .
I tried different motors and weirdly i have less problems with a 9,5 than a 6,5 but it still very unracable ...
I use lipos, no lipo cut off installed yet (it's certainly an old version) .
The wireing is ok .
I'm kinda desperate ....
Thanks.

The cogging would be cause by the sensor and the power being out of phase with each other. It could be in the motor, the sensor wire or the ESC. You say you've tried two motors with the existing GTB. Now try those motors with a different GTB. That way you tell if its the motor or the ESC.
The power capacitor should not be the cause. It only smooths out the power from the battery to the esc. You can run without it but you just don't have as much punch. Its more noticable with mod motors.

Good to know it may not be the capacitor, i was about to unsolder it and try the GTX one .
I just noticed that everytime the esc has those "jolts" things the red led turns on,and we"re talking like 5 jolts a second but happens directly when the car 's on the ground not when i hold it in the air .... damn it...

Just tried with 2 lipo packs and 1 nimh .... Same ... BUT when i first try the nimh was nearly empty and then much less jolts, then ad some juice to the nimh pack and the problem was fully back ....
Power problem then i guess ?
