Default Help beginner Here!!!

I just got into rc racing. im building team associated t4. I purchase the new lrp stock spec esc and the vector x-11 17.5 bl motor. i have a question when it comes to soldering the esc to the motor. Should i only apply heat to the wire or is it ok to heat the motor tabs?? any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First strip the insulation from the tip of the wire. You only need a small amount of wire exposed...no more than 1/4". Next you will "tin" it by applying some solder to the wire and letting it melt and cover the exposed wire. Do the same for the tabs on the motor and ESC. Next you will put the wire on the tab and press the solder iron on the wire and you'll see the solder melt evenly on the tab. Hope this helps!
