Arrow Soldering/ESC

Hey guys.

I am trying to solder some new wires to my ESC and it seems that the eyelets on the board are too small for Novak 14G wire. Can I reem the eyelets out a bit to make the wire fit? Thoughts? Preferred methods?

Thanks!

What ESC? The one I have seen typically have a metal grommett type thing that you solder to. It does have a flashing that you solder to on the outside.

It's a Novak XRS. There are metal eyelets on the board...think I could reem them out a hair without doing any damage?

I wouldnt ream it out personally!!!!! Unless it was like 1000th of an inch!!!!!

To be safe I would use a smaller guage wire, leave 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch of slack coming from the eyelits. Strip the wire and solder you 14g to the wire coming from the eyelits.

You could also heat shrink the solder job to make it look more apealing.

I think it would work. I'd rather be safe though. Thanks for your input.

Scott, if you're at KARZ sometime I can show it to you. I won't be there for a few weeks as I'm too busy studying.
