Default IM either a hero or a zero, help me decide

well i took my new used car up to a hobbyshop today. ofcourse they loaded me with 70 bucks worth of shit, but as im cashin out the guy goes, whoa wait, someone trimmed the antennae and youve got wire showin at the bottom. apperently my car could havewent outta controll into the street at 75 mph (its a nitro 4-tec). he gave me 3 choices, take home some antennae, go in and unsotter the old one, and re sotter this one, leave it there for him to do it, or buy a new reciever. soooooo, im 17, cash is ight and i know it all, needless to say i did it myself!!!! everything appears to be ok, but is ther a way to check? i havent ran it yet cus i snapped sumthin that holds a rear tire, but i turn it on and it turns when i tell it to and goes and stops, does that mean i did it right? is there some other test i should do? have i converted this into a screaming plastic deathtrap? please help me i dnt know whether to be proud or pissed that i just wasted my time and cash lol. please help.

Well, you may have done alright. The true test is to take it out and do a range test. Put it up on some blocks to get the wheels off the ground. Test the steering and throttle as you walk away from the car. If it's still screwed up, you shouldn't be able to get very far away before it starts glitching.
