Recommend Servos

Hello,

Coming from 1/10 scale electric.

What are some good 1/8 scale buggy servos, especially for steering? I know this is subjective.

I want what everyone wants. The fastest highest torque most reliable servo. Cost is not an issue.

Thanks!

Banter

I really like the ACE R/C DS1015 on steering and throttle. If you're a little strapped for cash, the DS1313's ain't bad either.

Savox Servo's They are a new company but a getting a fair few top drivers signing for them including the top British driver John Hazlewood.. Elliot Boot.. um.. many more.. great servo's some of the lightest on the market.. and a affordable price too.. Check them out.. They have improved my Driving lots from my Old Hitec 645mg's hahaha

Hitec 79XX TG series servos. I have a 7955TG in my truggy and it has worked flawlessly. Hitec has one of the best warranties in the industry.

u will get eventually recommended all the top servos :)

so lets continue.

Futaba BLS351/352/451/452 depending on application.

JR9100T/S

and list continues...

i really like futaba brushless series as they seem to have quite low power consumption

+1. I really like the futaba BLS351/BLS451 in my truggy. I run a JR9100T for steering in the muggy and it seems to work well, but hasn't been used that much so i can't comment on its durability yet.

I probably should have mentioned that I have a Futaba 3PK w/HRS. From what I understand HRS only works with digital servos, but is there an advantage to sticking with Futaba digital servos?

Futaba, JR, Hitec.... and so on is just like Ford vs Chevy.

The guy who recommended the Savox servo's failed to tell you that in the US they are the Orion servos. I use the old 5955 st, and the 5625 throttle from Hitec and havent had any issues. And I will run them till they go caput. I like to try different brands of stuff I have used KO PROPO and loved them along with Futaba. I will probably try the Orion's next unless the price goes down on the HV JR's with the metal cases that are coming out soon I belive. They look promising, especially because you can use lipo without a regulator which is the only way i will run 1.

Any of the 79XX series will do just fine.....7955 especially for steering....and fwiw dont skimp out on servo's....its 1 area you should buy big and buy once.....replacing lower grade servo's even once becomes more expensive then buying a top grade one from the get go.

Integra is correct, and I learned this the hard way. I'm currently running a JR DS8717 for my steering on my 8ight. Plenty of torqe and speed for me. Don't buy $35 servos, they a are not made to withstand the abuse of 1/8th scale racing.

I would strongly recommend Futaba servos. Though they are not the fastest , they are the most durable and trouble free. And, since you already have the Futaba radio ( which is also a fine piece of electronics) why not run a complete Futaba system?

JR 9xxx are super fast servos..

Hitec- I've owned one Hitec servo, which lasted all of one qualifier in a B4. And that was after I had just purchased it in the hobby shop.

I"m like you, price is nothing. However, when it comes time to buy something, I look for quality.

i run the JR8915 in my steering - MBX5R - Hasn't let me down.
