Hitec servo problem....maybe?
#1
I am using a hitec 5645mg for a steering servo in TM G4+ and while everything is conected it feels as if my servo horn can move around a fair bit thus causing slop in my steering. Is this a bearing issue in the case or is that the gears wearing which means a new one

Any help would be great, thanks

It you can move the horn around a few degrees with no resistance, than it's probably slop in the geartrain; gears are worn and will need to be replaced soon. I had the same problem with many of my metal geared Hitecs. Never been a problem with the titanium gears though.

Can you buy replacement gears for them or is it not worth it and just get a new one?

I had the same problem with a Hitec 5925 (i think). It would develop slop in the gears after about a month of use. I rebuilt it once. I still have the servo as a backup. I would definately send it to Hitec they have great customer service

So do i just send it to them with all my details and what the problem is and they will just send me a new one or do i have to contact them first and let them know it's on it's way
Sorry but i've never done this before and i don't want to send my servo away and never see it again
PS: Will i have to go to their Australian distributer or go straight to Hitec themselves?
