run time???

guys how long will a 2 cell 2200 20c lipo last with a sidewinder esc and a 27 turn stock motor in a b4 with propper gearing..... even with a 5700kv ????

jd267 02-22-2009 09:58 AM

can anyone give me some help????? lol

I hven't run that combo, but have run s Vendetta ST with a 2100mah lipo, big 4900kv Permex BL motor and Quark 33a esc and see runtimes of 25min and more.

Don't now how comparable this may or may not be though....

With the 5700kv motor I'm guessing not very long... 2200mah and 20C is only 44 amps of discharge rating. Suspect a 5700kv in a 1/10 scale vehicle is going to puff that battery up fairly quickly.

With a 27T motor perhaps 8-10 minutes?

Either way, keep in mind that you shouldn't run a lipo all the way down, hope you have a low voltage cutoff if you are going for maximum run time.

guys sorry for all the dumb questions...lol a 5700kv puts out a 100amps or is it the esc??? thats what i should look at right?

jd267 02-22-2009 01:29 PM

do you guys no of any other companys like zippy that sell decent packs??? all the zippys are sold out:cry:

It's primarily what the motor draws, the esc and battery need to be able to supply what the motor needs. No easy way to determine that other than experience, or an on board data acqusition system like an Eagle Tree setup. Lots of variables, vehicle, gearing, running surface, driving style, yada yada. But a 5700kv is known to need a lot of amps, it's a pretty powerful motor.

Yeah racing I think it is has reasonably cheap packs that many have had good luck with.

im there right now..lol so 20c is no good????? thats what im hearing... 3700 20c 2 cell is not enuff for a 5700

20C 3700mah is only supplying 3700/1000 x 20 = 74amps. Boost the capacity to 5000 and 20C is fine - 5000/1000 x 20 = 100amps.

+1 too many people don't understand that the C rating is directly connected to the capacity rating! Can't believe we don't have a sticky yet for all these lipo questions:weird:

Duster i read your post and you know that the mini stuff doesn't relate to 1/10, 4900kv mini BL is no where the amp draw of 1/10 4900kv.:weird::weird:

Yeah, I know, but the batt was the same size....wasn't thinking. I know my Slash/sidewinder/5700 would make short work of a 2100. I run 5000mah 2S 25C neus in it....
