Questions?? Airtronics M8 Spectrum ?

Good Day:

I have what to some may be a stupid question but I am going to ask it anyway.
I just purchased a used M8 W/spektrum and when it arrived the I noticed that the TX module does not have the built in antenna.
There is a rubber plug in the whole and the wire from the module actually goes to a spectrum antenna in the stock antenna location.
I just wondered why that was a friend of mine has the same radio but his module has an antenna.
I looked around on ebay and a few other places and found M8's with both configurations can anyone shed some light on this.
Are there two ways to install the module anteena I did not see anything in the directions about this.

Just want to be informed.

A lot of people "modfiied" their M8 so the Spektrum antenna could be in place of the original FM metal one... It is very easy to break the Spektrum antenna in it's stock location.. The only real problem with the mod is that you cannot take out your module easily. There really isn't much need to take it out anyway. As long as it works, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thumbs up Spectrum

The radio works great just through me off not seeing the antenna sticking out of the module.
I did try to remove the module when I could not I removed the back plate to see how it was installed and found the wire holding it in.
I have seen them with heat shrink holding the anteena together so I guess this is better would be very hard to break the antenna in this location.
Thanks for responding.
