Default Spektrum sr300 help

(First, this is about the SR300, not the 3000.)

Hey all,

I've got a question about my SR300's antenna. This is my first 2.4ghz system so excuse my ignorance.. I'm used to the million inch long antenna's on the am/fm recievers.

Anyway, the SR300 antenna is so short, that by the time it reaches the antenna tube, it becomes unnecessary (the receiver is mounted in a Slash receiver box).

To the question already.. Can i just keep the antenna in the receiver box? I hear these 2.4ghz systems are just that strong...

Thanks.

Drill a small hole in the RX box lid

Fit a small rubber grommet

Cut an antenna tube down to size so the wire just pokes out the top

Feed the tube into the grommet, wire up through the tube

Cheers

I leave the antenna in the box on a number of my cars. When I can though, I like to use the straw from my WD-40 can to stand that lil sucker up.

It helps the range when you have the antenna as vertical as possible especially if you're a basher.

This is irrelevant for me due to the size of the tracks I race on, it makes no difference in range.

Any time you can get the antenna up instead of tucked away somewhere is going to be better, not only with range, but simple interference. I like the idea if running it straight out of the reciever box with a grommet and small tube.
