Default LRP Sphere comp w/ out fan in 4wd

Anyone had any problems running a sphere comp (not the TC with the fan the regular one) in an off road 4wd? I ment to order the comp TC with the fan but go the normal comp instead. Im running a 6.5 in it w/ lipo and was wondering if anyone's had any trouble with them. Just checking to see if i should keep this one or send it back and get the TC...Thanks for the help!!

run it, if its hot buy a fan. only run it for a short period of time then check until you've ran your batteries down.

I ran a TC with no fan and just the heat sink this past weekend with a 10.5 and never had temperatures over 95 degrees with about 7 minutes per run. It was also about 65 to 75 in the building.

I know plenty of people that run the Sphere in a 4wd and haven't had any problems, just make sure you have everything geared correctly.

I run no fan with my 7.5 in my FS, prolly ran that sphere for 15 months in cold, hot and very hot temps. No thermals.

Fans don't hurt but you don't need one if your temps are within spec.

I used to use it with just a heatsink on it and it was fine

I've run a Sphere Comp in both a B44 and a ZX5 with no fans and no problems, pushing mostly 6.5's. No thermals, just make sure you gear correctly and let a little air flow through the body. My motors are always hotter than the ESC. Just don't try to gear it like a higher turn in a 2wd and you should be fine.

I can't remember my exact gearing, but I think I've been running 16-17/78 with the 6.5's. Still has plenty on both ends, but I run on relatively small tracks.
