Default Spektrum receiver help

I am short on space in a 4wd buggy and am looking for ways to save some real estate... I figure one way would be to substitute the Spektrum SR3100 receiver i have with the Spektrum SR3500 micro receiver..... Is there any disadvantage to this??? Does it have a shorter range? Any info would be appreciated....

Thx

sounds like the way to go as far as I am aware the micro is the same as the other spektrum 2.4 rx but just check that there may be a speed issue, I changed from the sr3000 to the pro sr3001 and they claim that the 3001 is twice as fast and you do notice it a bit on the track, I race onroad nitro and speed is a priority, I say go for it get the micro you shouldnt notice any diffence if there is any when it comes to performance and its better to have some space in your receiver box go to www.spektrumrc.com to get the info
good luck

If you can afford to wait a little bit the SR3520 is coming. It's smaller than the SR3500 AND DSM2, so it has all the advantages the SR3100 has over the DSM1 receivers but smaller!

I don't know exactly when it's coming. You can pre-order it now though and when it comes in it'll ship to you.
