I Have a problem with my electronics. I bought a chepo 24$ duratrax sport ESC and can"t get it to work properly. When I hook up battery, ESC and spektrum Receiver, I only get steering, no red light and no motor power. So I switched positions on my receiver, now I get red light and motor power when i turn the wheel? and get steering when I hit the trigger.... so I tried a different receiver. I get motor power with the trigger pulled (good) but no steering (bad) I know it is probably something stupid that I should be able to figure out . Help?

Another thing to consider is the "cheapo" ESC could be the problem. There have been multiple instances on a lot of forums where guys have had trouble with the cheaper/budget ESCs having problems when trying to be used with the higher-end spektrum radio equipment.
It's a shame you spent a lot of money on your radio but decided to save a buck on your ESC. A lesson in you get what you pay for.

Actucally I already had the radio equipment for my other nitro cars, the ESC is the only thing I bought new. But your right "You get what you pay for". So are you saying this problem can't be fixed without buying a new esc?

Oftentimes it's a matter of the radio have to be "re-bound" and/or the ESC re-set each time the vehicle is turned on (because of the delay built into the ESC, the radio has to be re-set each time because it had to wait to be "found"), and other cases where they just don't work together at all.
To me it's one of those many instances where I've always followed the rule of "spend once on higher-end electronics, and you'll never be disappointed." It's just not worth scrimping on.
