Mine is doing the same thing and when it happens the blue and amber lights are flashing, it sits for a few seconds and starts to go again. I have been the there within seconds and the motor temp is around 130 and there is no binding. I use Orion 3200 Lipo packs. This is very annoying to say the least especially when it happens during the main. I have not sent it back so can you please forward info so I can get this taken care of. Other than that I really like the system and have recommended it to other racers, I bought the 8.5 system but have had the same problem with my 10.5 and my 13.5 lrp stock motor. I can not afford to buy another speedo so any and all help would be greatly appreciated the system is only a couple of months old.

This has happened to me twice this past Saturday and once on sunday.
21.5/2C LiPo WGT class (local rules)
CRC car
Orion 3800 LiPo
DX3S radio.

First time ALL the LEDs were flashing. The motor was at 138° and the spedo heat sink was at 89°.
The second time just the Blue and Amber led's were flashing. The motor was at 140° but I didn't get the spedo temp.

I just parked the car after the second shut down. Sunday changed the gearing to a bigger spur. This time it lasted just under five min before it shut down again and the car broke.
Not sure what to do and I have another new one sttting in the box that I have not used yet.
Both were purched at the same time.
One was a 17.5 combo and the other was a 21.5 combo.

What is my next step for these?

I have a 21.5 Havoc combo in my TC3 - VTA car. It has worked ok just driving around in the street, but I haven't had a chance to race it yet. You can get more aggressive braking using the Havoc than the GTB. I always seem to want more brakes coming from Nitro.

I did found out about the LVC feature running it with some NiMh packs. When the voltage goes too low you loose throttle/brake but retain steering. You will get the green & red lights flashing.

I'm thinking to wait for the new Havoc 3S version for use in my Slash. I just can't decide what turn motor to get for the Slash.

I really like hearing other people are having the same problem with there havoc systems. After sending it to novak and being called a idiot not know what I', doing ((my words not theirs)). My battery's were the problem, my rx was the problem, my charger was the problem everything except the esc was the problem. I wait to see a response other than USER ERROR.

Sent Mine in on the 12th and still no response ,I have e mailed and ask for an update to no avail I am starting to get worried.

Has anything been descovered on this (shutdown) problem where it would be worth sending a unit back in yet? I have always used novak products and have never had an issue in the past, I even went as far as to suggest the 8.5 havoc system to a friend (before issue's) and he purchased one and is now having the same problem. Please keep us informed

just got an E mail from Novak the ESC was replaced under warranty and the motor checked out OK, is on the way back VIA UPS no explanation as to the cause of the problem just that the ESC was replaced.

I have the 21.5 combo and i love it for 150 bucks where else are you going to find a brushless system for that price. but i havent had the problems you guys were talking about so i hope that doesnt happen

got it back from Novac today and the note in the box said the powerboard was bad and they sent a new ESC, installed in truck tonight will find out Sat. if the problen is fixed.

I just bought one as well, the 8.5 combo....waiting on new lipos and connectors to try out. Hope i dont have the same problem...let me know how everything goes:nod:

Just made it thru a day of racing and everything was great so far, I will hold off judgment for 1 race weekend but I am hopeful.
